Everything begins
with your microbiome.
GutBio DiscoverMe™ is a complete personalised gut-health service. It starts with a gut microbiome test, translates the findings into an easy-to-understand report and uses those insights to guide the design of your individual probiotic.

The science behind DiscoverMe
From microbiome data
to your probiotic.
Once your report has identified the areas in which your microbiome may benefit from support, the findings are used to guide a tailored probiotic formulation. This gives DiscoverMe a clear purpose: your blend is selected for your profile, rather than taken from a standard shelf formula.
- Relevant strain selectionProbiotic strains are considered according to the needs highlighted by your results.
- Personalised formulationYour blend is created specifically for you and supplied with simple dosing guidance.
- Informed daily supportYour report helps you understand why each part of the personalised plan has been recommended.
You.
Why test your gut?
Your microbiome matters.
Your gut is a living ecosystem that influences far more than digestion. Testing helps replace guesswork with a clearer understanding of your own microbial profile.
Digestive comfort
Your gut helps break down food and absorb the nutrients your body relies on.
Immune resilience
A large part of your immune system is connected to the gut and its microbial community.
Mind & mood
The gut–brain connection can influence mood, focus and your overall sense of wellbeing.
Metabolic health
Your microbiome plays a role in energy use, blood-sugar balance and healthy metabolism.
Understanding gut health
Common digestive conditions and concerns.
Digestive symptoms can overlap, while their causes and treatments may be very different. A microbiome test can add wellness insight, but it does not diagnose these conditions.
Bloating & excess gas
A feeling of fullness, abdominal pressure or increased gas can have many causes, including diet, intolerances and digestive conditions.
Constipation
Infrequent or difficult bowel movements may relate to diet, hydration, medicines, lifestyle or an underlying health condition.
Diarrhoea
Loose or frequent stools may be short-term or persistent and should be assessed if severe, recurring or accompanied by warning signs.
Irritable bowel syndrome
IBS commonly involves abdominal pain with constipation, diarrhoea or both. Management differs from person to person.
Reflux & indigestion
Burning, discomfort or fullness in the upper digestive tract can have several causes and may require clinical assessment.
Food intolerance patterns
Lactose and other food intolerances can produce digestive symptoms, but are different from food allergies and coeliac disease.
After antibiotic use
Antibiotics can disturb gut microbial communities. Recovery varies according to the medicine, diet, health and individual microbiome.
Inflammatory bowel disease
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are medical inflammatory conditions that require specialist diagnosis and treatment.
Coeliac disease
Coeliac disease is an immune disorder triggered by gluten and requires medical testing and a lifelong gluten-free diet—not probiotic treatment alone.
Why personalise?
The same probiotic does not affect everyone in the same way.
People differ in their existing microbiome, diet, age, lifestyle, medication use and health history. Probiotic effects can also depend on the exact strain or combination—not simply the word “probiotic.”
DiscoverMe uses your microbiome findings to guide a more relevant strain-selection conversation. This is a more targeted wellness approach than choosing a generic formula without personal information, but it is not guaranteed to treat a condition and the science of precision probiotics is still developing.
- Begins with your individual microbiome profile
- Links recommendations to findings in your report
- Avoids assuming that one formula suits everyone
- Supports informed discussion with healthcare professionals
Probiotic evidence varies by condition, strain and combination. People with diagnosed gastrointestinal disease, severe symptoms or weakened immune systems should seek professional medical guidance before using a probiotic.
The gut–body connection
Your gut communicates with the rest of your body.
The gut–body axes are two-way communication networks connecting the intestinal microbiome with distant organs through neural, immune, hormonal and metabolic pathways.
These connections are scientifically important, but an association does not prove that a microbiome change caused a disease. Evidence differs between axes, and many findings remain under investigation.
Gut–Brain Axis
The gut and brain communicate through nerves, immune signals, hormones and microbial metabolites. Research links this two-way system with stress responses, mood, cognition and digestive conditions such as IBS, but microbiome findings cannot diagnose anxiety, depression, autism or other neurological conditions.
Gut–Endocrine Axis
Gut microbes can interact with hormones involved in appetite, energy use, stress and reproductive function. These relationships may be relevant to metabolic and hormonal health, although endocrine disorders require clinical assessment and cannot be explained by the microbiome alone.
Gut–Heart Axis
Microbial metabolites, inflammation and diet may connect the gut microbiome with blood-vessel and cardiovascular health. Associations have been reported with blood pressure and atherosclerosis, but cardiovascular disease has many risk factors and needs proper medical evaluation.
Gut–Lung Axis
The gut and lungs communicate through immune pathways—often called the gut–lung axis. Researchers are studying how gut microbial patterns may relate to respiratory immunity and chronic lung conditions, but probiotics are not a treatment for COPD or acute breathing problems.
Gut–Liver Axis
Blood from the intestine travels directly to the liver, carrying nutrients, microbial products and metabolites. This close connection is being studied in inflammation and metabolic liver conditions, including fatty liver disease, while liver disease still requires medical testing and management.
Gut–Pancreas Axis
The microbiome may influence glucose regulation, inflammation and metabolic signalling that involve the pancreas. Research is exploring links with diabetes and pancreatic health, but a gut test cannot diagnose diabetes or pancreatic disease.
Gut–Bone Axis
Gut microbes may affect the absorption of nutrients important for bone, as well as immune and inflammatory pathways involved in bone turnover. This may contribute to bone-health research, but osteoporosis and mineral loss require validated clinical screening.
Gut–Muscle Axis
Microbial metabolites, nutrition and inflammation may influence muscle energy and function. Scientists are investigating possible links with frailty and age-related muscle loss, alongside established factors such as activity, protein intake, illness and age.
Gut–Skin Axis
The gut and skin may interact through immune signalling, inflammation and microbial metabolites. Studies have explored associations with acne, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, but these conditions have multiple causes and should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Gut–Reproductive Axis
The gut microbiome can interact with sex hormones, immunity and metabolism, while the reproductive tract has its own distinct microbiome. These systems are being investigated in fertility and ovarian health, but microbiome testing does not diagnose infertility, cancer or hormonal disorders.
Gut–Kidney Axis
The kidneys remove many compounds produced or modified by gut microbes. In kidney disease, changes in filtration and the microbiome may influence one another; this relationship is an active area of research and is not a substitute for kidney-function testing.
Gut–Bladder Axis
The intestinal, vaginal and urinary microbial communities may interact, and gut bacteria can sometimes act as a reservoir for organisms involved in urinary tract infections. Urinary pain, fever or recurring infections need clinical testing rather than probiotic treatment alone.
Your gut report can help you understand microbial patterns relevant to general wellness and guide personalised probiotic support. It does not predict, confirm or treat diseases elsewhere in the body. Always discuss persistent or concerning symptoms with a qualified healthcare professional.
